Comcast Center Internship Program – Senior ElasticSearch Administrator in Saint Clairsville

Job Description:

The Senior ElasticSearch Administrator will collaborate with Masergy’s Monitoring and Analytics teams to design, build, secure, maintain, optimise, and document Elastic Stack Enterprise solutions (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats, APM with X-Pack, SEIM, and Alerts) deployed in an on-premise Elastic Cluster. They will be responsible for upgrading and maintaining the Masergy Security Services Elastic Cluster.

Job Responsibilities:

• Follows life cycle processes to move solutions from Dev to QA to Production.
• Configures index templates and data life cycle management (ILM) for data retention.
• Partners closely with application owners, engineers, and development teams to assess requirements, design and support an ElasticSearch Stack solution to ensure and structure queries to maximize system performance and efficiency.
• Designs and configures ETL data pipelines using Elastic Common Schema to onboard application logs and metrics.
• Develops Machine Learning (ML) job to dynamically monitor and alert on specific metrics and KPIs.
• Participates in group sessions as well as attend and share in agile sprint daily meetings to track progress to ensure development of solutions is in support of the requirements.
• Additional duties as assigned.
• Works with the Masergy Internal teams for Monitoring and Analytics to design, build, secure, maintain, optimize and document Elastic Stack Enterprise solutions (ElasticSearch, Logstash, Kibana, and Beats, APM with X-Pack, SEIM and Alerts) deployed in on-prem Elastic Cluster.
• Develops Elastic alerting solutions using Watcher and Kibana Alerts that will have integration with our existing applications.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• Understand the Security and Access management concept.
• Working knowledge Databases and Cache: SQL (MySQL etc), NoSql (DynamoDB, or MongoDB), Redis.
• Strong understanding of Elasticsearch index configuration options.
• Understanding of installation, system-level tasks, handling data collections, network issues, data pipes, and cluster-level administration
• Elastic API Integration.
• Understanding of kubernetes.
• High degree of problem solving and critical thinking skills
• Strong communication skills
  SQL and optimization of queries.
• Working knowledge of data visualization/business intelligence.
• Elasticsearch index configuration options, shading, aliases, etc.
• Exposure to Amazon ElasticSearch, Elastic Cloud, Pivotal Cloud foundry.
