Disney Advertising Sales is responsible for advertising sales and integrated marketing for The Walt Disney Company’s entertainment and sports offerings through linear, digital, social, addressable and radio businesses. This includes ABC, ABC News, Disney Channels Worldwide, ESPN Networks, Freeform, Disney Digital, FX Networks, National Geographic Networks, Hulu, and its eight ABC-owned local stations. Disney Advertising Sales (or DAS) works with media agencies and consumer brands to sell advertising via a “one-stop shop” approach across TV, digital and radio platforms representing all of the Disney brands.

Our sales teams align each with a major agency holding company representing a significant roster of blue chip clients or an industry. Our team handles national media negotiations and relationship building on behalf of the Walt Disney Company with clients within the Financial Services industry. Unlike a team aligning with an agency, who is the liaison between the Walt Disney Company and the client, we communicate directly with clients. We are responsible for generating revenue and handle national media negotiations and relationship building on behalf of the Walt Disney Company with agency personnel who represent these clients.

Responsibilities :

You will work closely with sales assistants and account executives on our team to understand the sales strategies we employ for each of our clients and the intricacies of the competitive media landscape we operate in. You will also work to maintain and prioritize the media schedule of those advertisers who have entrusted us with their marketing dollars.

Key learnings and responsibilities will relate to media schedule entry, providing clients with flighting and flowcharts for those schedules, managing placement of inventory with regards to unit length and programming, stewarding delivery against the advertisers media schedule and providing audience deficiency units in the event they are necessary.

We will provide you with a basic understanding of how the marketing, social, and revenue yield management teams work closely with sales to creatively design media schedules and marketing concepts that generate revenue for the company while meeting the marketing objectives or our clients.

Basic Qualifications :

 

  • Basic understanding of media, e.g., TV, Digital Video and Display and Social Advertising.
  • Basic knowledge of marketing principles, media history and advertising
  • Detail-oriented self-starter with outstanding interpersonal skills, both verbal and written
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Exceptional attention to detail with ability to synthesize large amounts of information
  • A self-starter with the ability to work in fast-paced environment
  • Appetite for working alongside and collaborating with a variety of teams to complete project work
  • Proficient with the Microsoft office suite including Excel, Word, and Powerpoint. Keynote is also a plus.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Familiarity and experience with Media and its metrics, either through course work or prior internships, and the tools/data sources frequently used

Required Education :

 

  • Enrolled as a junior student in an accredited college/university in the semester prior to the internship

Additional Information :

 

  • Must be enrolled in a college/university taking at least one class in the semester/quarter (spring/fall) prior to participation in the internship program OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Professional Internship
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • Must possess unrestricted work authorization

Program Dates: The length of this internship is approximately 12 weeks, and the approximate dates are May/June – August/September – Summer 2022. Interns will work : 40 hours per week and need to provide full availability throughout the internship.

Housing & Transportation: This is a remote opportunity and Interns are responsible for providing their own housing & transportation throughout the internship.
