Social Responsibility leads Disney General Entertainment Content’s (DGE) prosocial and philanthropic efforts, aligning charitable giving and other prosocial activities with the business and brand objectives of DGE, as well as Social Responsibility strategy of The Walt Disney Company (TWDC). We do this to fully leverage all resources available for maximum impact. The department leads content-driven prosocial initiatives, including the creation of on-air PSAs, philanthropic giving, content integration, and volunteerism.

Responsibilities :

A day in the life…

So you want to change the world? As a DGE Social Responsibility intern, you will be part of the team that strives to do that every day! Through the amazing reach of the multitude of brands of DGE and TWDC, we are able to execute campaigns that bring attention to important social issues. As this is a small team, you will be given access to the strategy behind the campaigns and will participate in the planning and execution of several projects.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Supporting the ongoing prosocial content-driven initiatives.
  • Supporting strategic philanthropy and grant-making processes.
  • Assisting with general clerical work.
  • Assisting in the production of PSAs/Interstitials.
  • Helping with the preparation of presentations.
  • Organizing internal employee volunteer efforts.
  • Assisting in creating prosocial communications assets.
  • Supporting tracking and measurement of prosocial initiatives.

Basic Qualifications :

What you bring to the role…

  • Cumulative GPA of 2.5 or higher.
  • Previous work/internship experience working in an office setting and/or in an administrative function.
  • Proven skills utilizing Microsoft Office products (Outlook, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
  • Knowledge of and familiarity with a variety of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram.
  • Strong communication & analytical skills.
  • Exceptional organizational skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-task and work under tight deadlines.
  • Proven ability to be a self-starter and effectively problem solve.
  • Experience in a fast-paced, professional environment.
  • An ability to work as a team player.
  • A strong interest in and/or experience with philanthropic endeavors, initiatives, and grant making principles.
  • Your passion and experience either as a volunteer or supporter of charitable causes.

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Undergraduate students in their Junior or Senior year, or a recent graduate within six months of your graduation date.
  • Previous internship experience within a related field.

Additional Information :

Internship Eligibility:

  • At least 18 years of age
  • Unrestricted work authorization
  • Enrolled in an undergraduate program at a college/university taking at least one class in the semester prior to participation in the internship program, or recently graduated within six months at time of application.
  • Must not have completed one year of continual employment on a Disney internship or program.
  • The approximate dates of this internship are May/June – January 2023.
  • All candidates must be able to have a consistent, reliable work schedule throughout the session.
  • Candidate must be available to work full-time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship.
