Responsibilities :

A Day in the Life…

This internship is a unique opportunity to join the casting team that oversees all Freeform pilots and current series, as well as all pilots and series for the new ONYX Collective. The Freeform/ONYX casting team works closely with the Development, Current, and Alternative Departments to cast a variety of scripted, unscripted, and animated projects. Freeform/ONYX Casting is also part of the larger Walt Disney Television Casting Department, which provides the opportunity to observe and collaborate with other casting teams within WDTV.

We consider our interns to be members of the team and seek motivated, proactive, and dependable candidates who are organized, upbeat, and eager to work hard in a busy, friendly environment. Responsibilities include administrative tasks, aiding assistants with their daily duties, reading and script coverage, and additional projects as needed. Love of television, an interest in casting, and an understanding of our current series and projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

 

  • Reads scripts efficiently and critically
  • Generates lists of actors for various projects and for general reference
  • Supports executive assistant in daily duties, including handling confidential materials
  • Assists with organizational duties and departmental tracking documents
  • Has the opportunity to shadow zoom meetings and table reads, and participates in casting brainstorming discussions

Basic Qualifications :

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, Google Drive
  • Outstanding communication and organizational skills
  • Exceptional phone, email, and interpersonal etiquette
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize a number of projects and tasks
  • Passion and desire to learn about the casting process

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Previous casting and/or entertainment experience

Required Education :

 

  • Currently enrolled in an accredited college or university and taking at least one class, or be a recent graduate of an accredited college or university within the last eighteen (18) months at time of application, or be currently participating in the Disney College Program, Disney Culinary Program or Disney Professional Internship Program

Additional Information :

Internship Eligibility:

 

  • All students must possess unrestricted work authorization
  • All students must be at least 18 years old
  • All students must provide their own housing and transportation for the duration of the internship. Position is located in Burbank, CA.

Program Dates:

 

  • The approximate dates of this internship are June 2022 through December 2022.
  • Candidate must be available to work full time hours (approximately 40 hours per week) for the duration of the internship. Hours are 9:30am-6:30pm PST.
