Job Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the collection of supporting data and schedules from various departments for preparing regulatory reports.
  • Analyze general ledger data to ensure proper recording per the FERC Uniform System of Accounts.
  • Maintain workpapers and supporting documentation for each filing entity.
  • File quarterly and annual regulatory reports by the required due dates.
  • Collect and gather data to facilitate external regulatory audits as necessary.
  • Responding to regulatory agency inquiries as needed.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor’s degree is required. Accounting degree is required or have completed all accounting courses required to sit for the CPA Exam.
  • At least five years prior work experience in oil and gas industry is preferred.
  • Solid understanding of financial statements (cash flow, balance sheet, income statement, retained earnings) is preferred.
  • Experience with regulatory accounting and reporting (FERC and/or Texas Railroad Commission) is preferred.
  • Strong ability to analyze and make judgments as to the accuracy of accounting data.
  • Strong working proficiency/knowledge of Microsoft Office especially Excel.
