Plains Internship – Pipeline and Facility Capital Projects In Cross Plains

Job Description:

Plains has an immediate opening for a Junior Buyer in our Procurement Group. Reporting to the Manager, Procurement, you will be challenged to acquire pipeline commodities and engineered equipment for pipeline and facility capital projects. Our ideal candidate has a solid educational foundation, relevant experience, and a proven track record of building effective relationships with project teams.

Job Responsibilities:

• Manage and process blocked/parked/unprocessed invoices via workflow.
• Perform Oracle maintenance activity as required (PO closing, material pricing updates, PO Change Order requests etc.) and as assigned.
• Ensure inbound vendor materials are actively monitored to meet committed delivery dates.
• Work with vendor and project team on mitigation of delays.
• Act as the point of contact for capital project material POs, interfacing with project management, engineering, on-site inspection, and suppliers.
• Manage Material Test Reports, Inspection Reports, and all other necessary traceability documentation in a manner that is easily retrievable when needed.
• Ensure that necessary traceability data is provided and/or transferred to project teams as required.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• 2–3 years’ experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain.
• Experience in pipeline / oil and gas, refinery, or EPC required.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Outlook, and Excel inclusive of pivot tables) and Oracle.
• Working knowledge of purchasing, including pipe and pipe inspection, pipeline commodities, inventory control, and logistics.
• Strong interpersonal skills and written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to lead small or sub-teams on larger projects.
• Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks.
• Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy.
