Job Description:
Boeing Defence UK is developing state of the art training equipment to support the UK MoD Defence Operational Training Capability (DOTC) called Gladiator.
We are looking for Systems Support Specialists to support the day to day operations and maintenance of the Gladiator Core Systems and Services (GCSS).
The role will be based in the new, custom built facility at RAF Waddington, near Lincoln.
Job Responsibilities:
- Supporting the customer in the operation of the system, communicating system limitations, trouble shooting and operator best practice.
- Expertise in the use of the Gladiator core software tools such as VR-Forces, VMWare, JIRA and others.
- Administer servers; troubleshoot server and network problems, maintenance of system security, administration of user’s system access controls and monitors system performance to support capacity planning, backup and disaster recovery planning.
- Perform hands-on troubleshooting, repair, maintenance, reconfiguration, and modification of the Training Devices, and all other electrical, electronic, and mechanical systems as directed by the senior on-site staff.
- Accomplish system initialization and checkout; system operation for extended periods; rapid fault diagnosis and correction; data logging, and system shutdown.
- Maintain system documentation and records as required including DRACAS.
- Perform general pre-operations, post-operations and configuration of training systems.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
- Knowledge of one of more of the following technologies including; VT MAK products (VR-Forces, VR-Engage, VR-Vantage etc), RedHat Linux, VMware, Microsoft Active Directory, Skype, and CISCO network administration would be desirable.
- Some occasional travel to remote sites may be required.
