Job Description:

The Dispatch Supervisor is responsible for assisting management in the supervision of dispatch and other staff, as needed, of the Transportation Department. Implements schedules, departure times, and daily functions of the Department. Ensures daily changes are coordinated in an efficient, effective and productive manner. Appraises changes and communicates with customers whenever necessary. Communicates information to other internal departments as necessary.

Job Responsibilities:

• Uses a company program to log all calls.
• Ensures that all necessary information is entered into the system so that all required data is compiled on the equipment.
• Ensures that all calls are handled in a timely fashion.
• Investigates untimely service.
• Covers holidays and other shifts where necessary in the 24/7/365 Dispatch Department.
• Communicates all major problems or concerns to Manager.
• Coordinates customer deliveries with Drivers and notifies customers of delays or accidents.

Job Requirements/Qualifications:

• BS Degree preferred.
• Associates degree in Transportation, Logistics, Business or related field or equivalent experience.
• 3-4 years’ experience in multiple stop dispatch operation.
• 4 or more years transportation experience with strong background in routing preferably in a multiple stop dispatch operation.
• Knowledge of Department of Transportation regulations.
• Current Microsoft Office Applications: Excel, Word and Access skills necessary.
• Excellent working knowledge of Road Net
